Dr Ricky Ng has 28 years of work experience at various universities and higher education institutions in Hong Kong. He held the post of Assistant Director (Programme Development) in The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) from 2020 to 2023, Head of Centre for Learning and Teaching in the Vocational Training Council (VTC), Hong Kong from 2015 to 2020 and held management and teaching posts in Hong Kong's higher education sector from 1996 to 2015. A veteran of learning and teaching, programme development, quality assurance and enhancement, Dr Ng had managed a total of HKD$100 million government and institutional funded projects. He was the principal investigator of the HKD$21 million government-funded Quality Enhancement Support Scheme (QESS) cross-institutional E-Learning project and the subject leader of various learning and teaching strategic initiatives in one of Hong Kong’s education institutes.

 

With research interests in pedagogies in vocational and professional education and training (VPET), technology-enhanced learning, staff development in higher education institutions and organisational studies, Dr Ng published over 80 papers in Europe and Asia’s international conferences, journals and books. He has 21 works published in ORCID; 19 documents and 120 citations in Scopus with an hindex of 7; 295 citations in Google Scholar with an h-index of 10; and 195 citations in ResearchGate with an h-index of 9.

 

Dr Ricky Ng holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Business and Administration from the University of South Australia, a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) from Pratt Institute, New York City, U.S.A., a Master of Education (MEd) from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, a Master of Arts (MA) in Cultural Management from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Chinese Literature and History from Chu Hai College, Hong Kong. He is a National Human Resources Manager (NVQ1), a National Enterprise Trainer (NVQ2), a Certified Trainer of International Project Management Professional (IPMP), a Full Member (MCSD) of Chartered Society of Designers, a Full Member of the Hong Kong Designers' Association (HKDA) and a Full Member of the Hong Kong Management Association (HKMA).
