About
Danilo Delfin, an accomplished trumpet player, was a member of the Hong Kong Sinfonietta for over two decades, studying under esteemed mentors Henry Nowak, Aigi Hurn, and Judith Saxton. He holds a Professional and Advanced Diploma from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and a Master of Arts in Brass Pedagogy from Chichester University (UK), having received distinguished scholarships. Furthering his expertise in conducting, he attended conducting workshops at SUNY Fredonia (USA) and the Sibelius Academy (Finland).
Delfin has performed with the Asian Youth Orchestra, Hong Kong Youth Symphony Orchestra, and Hong Kong Sinfonietta, collaborating with eminent figures such as Sir Yehudi Menuhin and Vladimir Ashkenazy. As a conductor, he has led numerous school bands, orchestras, and community ensembles, guest-conducting internationally. His leadership in concert band competitions has garnered prestigious awards. He had held post as a board member of the World Association for Symphonic Bands and Ensembles (WASBE), he has significantly contributed to the promotion of Hong Kong wind bands and composers. In 2024, he was appointed Yamaha Conductor in Hong Kong, China.
